...Madeleine L'Engle. She was always one of my favorite authors -- of course for A Wrinkle in Time and its sequels, but also for her Austin books (The Moon by Night was my favorite) and some of her more adult-oriented work. She was an extraordinary human being and a wonderful writer, as well as an astute observer of the human condition. She will be missed.
