In more ways than one. I tried to post this earlier today, and LJ had a complete and utter conniption fit dealing with 7K of cut text. They really need to work on that. So I'm trying again. (Fingers crossed)

All reviews/comments are welcome, although if you're not on my LJ f-list, they will be screened. But don't worry -- I'll unscreen 'em when I get the notifications from LJ in my email.

The way it should have ended... )

Cut for DH spoilers (some of you don't care, but some of you do, so there it is...).

I saw it coming. )

Well, at least now I can write that epilogue to The Overlooked. Actually, I'm going to write two versions; the "canon" one will get posted on ff.n, fictionalley, and Sycophant Hex, and my alternate version will get posted here for anyone who wants to see it. I've already got them pretty much worked out in my head. Now I just have to get them written. I'm hoping it will be by the end of the week.

Ooh, I just got an email from the moderators at Occlumency (a Snape archive sponsored by Sycophant Hex) that The Overlooked is their featured story for July! This is really an honor, since they're quite picky over there -- each chapter is vetted by their staff to make sure it meets the site's standards for both grammar/spelling, etc. as well as adherence to canon. It's definitely not a free-for-all the way ff.n is. And to have my story be the featured one for July, which is just about the biggest month ever for all us HP nerds...well, it's definitely happy-making. :-)

Poor Snape. I hope he lives....

At least, now I know I'd better start saving up and planning, because I just got word yesterday that my submission to Phoenix Rising (a Harry Potter symposium being held in May), was accepted. I have no idea how many people sent in fics or how many they ended up accepting, but I feel very honored that my selection from The Overlooked was chosen. I got the e-mail last night, so between that and finishing Sympathy for the Devil, I was having a pretty good day. Of course, now I have to figure out how the hell I'm going to afford a trip to New Orleans AND buy a car, but somehow I'll manage. I always do.

Other than that, I'm feeling rather at loose ends. I was just charging ahead so many days in a row with writing my Nano that I don't really know what to do with myself. Actually, what I need to do is finish up the final prep for No Return, since I have GOT to submit that to lulu this weekend or it won't be ready in time for Christmas.
